Switzerland based specialty feed company, Pancosma, has acquired Brazilian feed additives producer, Btech.

Financial details of the transaction, signed last month, were not disclosed.

The São Paulo headquartered Btech, which was established in 1992, produces feed additives for animal nutrition, as well as products for microbial control in feed, animal and vegetable by-products, said a spokesperson for Pancosma.

Its portfolio, she said, includes antioxidants, minerals, probiotics, flavors, organic acids, and betaine sources as well as products dedicated to ruminants.

Btech targets the Brazilian poultry, swine, cattle and aquaculture segments.

And the company’s commercial distribution network in Brazil was particularly appealing in terms of the rationale for the acquisition, said the Pancosma spokesperson.

Flavoring palatants are the core business for Pancosma, which is now a subsidiary of French animal nutrition group, InVivo NSA, following its acquisition in 2014.
