Deciphering rumen microflora and link with dairy productivity

Lallemand Animal Nutrition says its two new educational resources for dairy cow management are aimed at helping industry better understand the rumen environment and microbial function, along with the potential rumen challenges encountered on-farm.

The company said the overarching goal of the online portal and print handbook, Rumen Health Technical Guide, is to enhance the knowledge, capabilities and production practices of veterinarians, nutritionists and producers.

The content is focused on the role of rumen microorganisms and their impact on the host’s performance and health.

Interested parties can access a printed English version of the technical handbook through the online resource, said Lallemand.
