The yeast producer said the purchase of Nova Microbial Technologies is part of its effort to offer more microbial products and focus on services related to improving animal performance and well-being.

Nova Microbial Technologies has a history of working with direct-fed microbial, plant powder extracts, igY technologies, silage inoculants and specialty products. It is based in Omaha, Nebraska.

Jeff Ast, commercial director with Lallemand Animal Nutrition, North America, said the two companies share an interest in advanced microbial technologies and research.

Lallemand Animal Nutrition continues to seek such partnerships to expand the company's range, he said.

Product focus will be on coverage for markets both in the US and globally, added Lallemand.
